SUMMARY

Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat is a unique area and one of the most beautiful pearls of the Mediterranean. This peninsula is located next to Nice and Villefranche sur Mer with Cap Ferrat at its end. Its intimacy, its winter warmth and its palaces make it a very popular place for a wealthy aristocracy and great international fortunes.
It is in Cap Ferrat that one sees one of the most beautiful palaces in the world, the Grand Hôtel du Cap, which stands in the middle of a paradisiacal garden.

History of the town

It was in 1876 that the Compagnie Générale des Eaux was created in the middle of a wooded park. It is an artificial lake of 6800m³ that feeds the Vésubie, embellished with an islet and a waterfall. It is thanks to this water that the peninsula is covered with denser and more diverse vegetation. From then on, Cap Ferrat became a privileged place of excursion for the Nice families who came by horse-drawn carriages to picnic under the pines and olive trees or to have lunch in one of the restaurants that appeared near the port.

It is marked out over 14 km and divided into 3 parts: the Cap Ferrat tour, the Pinède and the Maurice Rouvier promenade, which connects Saint Jean Cap Ferrat to Beaulieu.
Continue in the lush gardens of the villa surrounded by the sea. Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild was inspired by her travels to create the 7 gardens which are declined in several themes such as Japanese, Spanish and Florentine.
