The coastal town of Sainte Maxime lies at the heart of the Gulf of Saint Tropez. It is protected from the winds by the last foothills of the Massif des Maures, a haven of peace between land and sea, where life is good.
Sainte-Maxime was a Greek region before becoming a small Roman settlement. Because of its unique location, the Phocaeans established a trading post here, receiving wine, oil, olives and various minerals.
The coastal town was rebuilt in the 13th century, and in 1520 the monks of Lérins erected the Tour Seigneuriale Carrée. This was used for legal proceedings and for storing cannons, which in association with those of Saint Tropez, ensured the protection of the Gulf.
It was in the 19th century that the town became what it is today, a renowned seaside resort. It was frequented by many artists and is still one of the must-sees on the Côte d’Azur.

The Beaucas wine estate
Situated not far from Sainte-Maxime and Plan-de-la-Tour, the Beaucas family estate overlooks the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, at an altitude of around 250 metres. The views over the Gulf and the Mediterranean are breathtaking.
It is here that we produce a nectar of white, rosé and red AOC Côtes de Provence. The wines can be found in many of the restaurants and cellars in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
