We are pleased to spotlight François Coizy, the Carlton International licensee for the Algarve region. With solid experience in the real estate sector and a clear vision for the luxury market, François Coizy brings valuable expertise to our network. Having joined the adventure eight months ago, François now shares his feedback on recent developments in his business, the challenges faced, and his experience since integrating into Carlton International.
Since our last discussion, how has your business evolved? What significant changes or developments have occurred?
We took a few weeks to successfully manage the Carlton International brand alongside the original brand of the agency, which was created nearly 10 years ago. In terms of CRM, graphic identity, and communication, we have fully adopted the Carlton International image. Our offices and vehicles now sport Carlton’s colors, which has been very well received by our clients. They particularly appreciate the ‘chic’ and British style of the logo and emblem.
What challenges have you encountered over the past six months and how have you addressed them? How has Carlton International helped you overcome these challenges?
The challenges are numerous, particularly becoming more competitive in a Portuguese market affected by a slowdown in real estate transactions across Europe. The Carlton International brand has allowed us to better penetrate the luxury real estate segment (properties above €2M), which is less impacted by the current market conditions.
What feedback have you received from clients regarding Carlton International’s services? Have you noticed any new trends in the luxury real estate market in the region?
It is still early to draw definitive conclusions about our entry into the Carlton International family. However, the brand immediately inspires values of professionalism, seriousness, and rigor, as well as an international dimension that strengthens trust with our clients. The luxury market is doing well in the region, especially among Anglo-Saxon clients looking to invest in a sunny area and in a country known for the security of property and people.
Based on your experience, what advice would you give to new licensees just starting their journey with Carlton International?
My advice would be not to feel apprehensive about entering the high-end market, known as the ‘luxury market’. Keep in mind the strength of the brand and the natural respect it commands when you present it.
