    History of the town

Cabris is a rural village, where the predominant activity has always been agriculture, and especially that of the olive tree.
Over the centuries, the village has attracted artists and writers. Antoine de Saint-Exupery, famous for the wonderful book “Le petit Prince”, spent his holidays there at the beginning of the 20th century as did Albert Camus, philosopher and Nobel Prize winner, together with André Gide, celebrated author who stayed there several times. The Vienot Foundation was created in honour of these writers.
Of the feudal castle, there are only a few ruins and remains of the wall. Built in 997, it still offers a splendid view of the Mediterranean Sea.
