Cabris, which takes its name from the Latin word for “goat”, is a pretty village perched 550m above sea level. It offers a magnificent view of the Tanneron mountain range and the Mediterranean Sea. The Vienot Foundation was created in honour of these writers.
Of the feudal castle, there are only a few ruins and remains of the wall. Built in 997, it still offers a splendid view of the Mediterranean Sea.
Cabris has a mild Mediterranean climate throughout the year. This ideal temperature is perfect for strolling in the old village and its narrow streets. Walk to the lookout point and admire the extraordinary view of the plain of Grasse, the bay of Cannes, the mountains of the Esterel, the Gulf of La Napoule, and the lake of Saint-Cassien. Walk the narrow streets of the village and observe the old gray stone houses. In the centre of the old village, you can buy Provençal specialties on le marché des plaisirs.
