The Anthéor viaduct: In 1862, the Anthéor viaduct was an arched railway bridge that linked the East Var region and the County of Nice. Currently, there are 9 arches that support the bridge 25 meters above the road. During World War II, the viaduct was bombarded extensively, but it was not completely destroyed. It was finally destroyed by the allied forces during the landing in Provence on August 15, 1944.
Between land and sea, the residential area of Anthéor stands out in a luxurious setting. The splendid Corniche d’Or coastal road passes through Anthéor and is recognized as one of the most beautiful in France connecting Saint-Raphaël and Mandelieu-la-Napoule along the coastline. The winding road lets you discover at every bend one more stunning view than the other. Admire the vertiginous cliffs that border the area and marvel at the impressive viaduct, itself dwarfed by the Esterel mountain range. The combination of the warm red rocks and the turquoise sea lapping at the shoreline in the multitude of little coves makes this a very special place, whose powerful charm will stay with you long after you have left the area.

The cove of Anthéor d’Agay is located at the level of the viaduct. This beach is Anthéor’s only sandy beach. This is the most spectacular part of Saint-Raphaël. The bright red cove of Anthéor, the scorching rocks and the deep blue water create an incredible contrast. The road from Anthéor to Mandelieu is considered one of the most beautiful in France: cut into the rock, on the side of a cliff, overlooking a dazzling and colorful panorama.
