History

More than 10 dolmens, megalithic tombs with a large flat stone laid on upright ones, found chiefly in Britain and France. have been discovered in Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, revealing the habitation of the village by men since the Neolithic and Bronze Age. This village was colonized by the Romans and later became dependent on the monks of the Abbey on the Lérins Islands, in the Bay of Cannes, until the 12th century. For hundreds of years and up to the 19th century, this medieval village enjoyed a dazzling success thanks to its flour, olive oil and paper mills.
