Located not far from the sea and in the heart of the Estérel Hills, the village of Les Adrets de l’Esterel offers a panoramic view of the Côte d'Azur. This magnificent setting is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and the historical richness of its heritage.
Formerly, Les Adrets formed only a hamlet in the village of Montauroux. The forest that surrounds the village was the source of much employment, particularly related to cork lifting, from the cork trees, coal mining, and calcium fluorite mines. The men of the village were therefore often loggers, cork lifters and charcoal makers.
This village, rich in history, has remarkable monuments that should not be missed. Notably the Church of Our Lady of the Moors, built in 1648. Also called Saint Mark's Church, it was initially a small windowless chapel. Today it retains an authentic and ancient appearance with its massive buttresses.

Estérel mountainsEstérel Mountain range is a volcanic rock formation of 32,000 hectares or 80 000acres. The red colour of the rock is linked to rhyolite, a volcanic rock from the primary era, 350 million years ago.
