Gassin Rentals: Discover the town

Perched high up in the hills overlooking the Golfe de St Tropez, Gassin is one of the south of France’s oldest and prettiest villages. Views across the bay towards the snow-peaked Alps are some of the most stunning to be found in the region, and are no doubt one of the reasons why this village has been named amongst the most beautiful in France.

The village is thought to have been a Templar outpost in the 10th century, and as you walk around Gassin’s winding cobbled streets you feel a million miles away from the bustle of the French Riviera.

In fact, over the last few decades Gassin has become increasingly popular with the more discerning members of the jet set seeking to find a balance between the hedonistic party atmosphere of Saint Tropez and gentle village life.

Gassin itself is a charming village with many of the amenities of a larger town. There are a number of first class restaurants, as well as a handful of cafes perfectly placed in idyllic squares such as the ancient Place Dei Barry. The village also has a beautiful old church called la Chapelle Notre-Dame de Consolation, and its 13th century ramparts are well worth a visit.

Another of Gassin’s many strengths is its location and accessibility to the rest of the south of France. Pampelonne Beach is only 4km away, and the fashionable port of Saint Tropez a convenient 8km. Meanwhile, Nice Cote d’Azur International Airport is less than one hour by car.
