Situated on either side of the Cap d’Antibes, the twinned towns of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins form one of the best-known and most popular resorts on the French Riviera. The two towns complement each other perfectly; Antibes is culturally and historically rich, while Juan-les-Pins is well known for its vibrant nightlife. The resort is blessed with 25km of stunning coastline and Cap d’Antibes is home to an immense park as well as some of most stunning villas in Antibes-Juan-les-Pins.
Founded as a Greek colony during the 5th century BC, Antibes is replete with the remnants of its past and is one of the most historically rich towns on the Côte d'Azur. It is still dominated by the ramparts of its 10th century fortifications and its castle now houses a number of cultural attractions including the Picasso Museum and the Archaeology Museum. The old town centre is best explored by foot and its narrow streets and attractive squares house an array of intimate boutiques, restaurants and cafés as well as a number of workshops where you can see local artisans creating all kinds of curios and art pieces.
Situated to the west of Antibes on the shores of Golfe Juan, Juan-les-Pins is an altogether different proposition to its historically rich neighbour. Founded in 1882, it has since developed into a major tourist resort and is well regarded for its casinos, nightclubs and night shopping. During the 1960’s, Juan-le-Pins began to establish itself as something of a playground for the rich and famous, a trait which led to it being name-checked in Peter Sarstedt’s 1969 hit, ‘Where Do You Go To (My lovely), the tale of a girl who joins the Euro jet-set.
